You can download Adobe Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) metadata about approval tasks for use in other systems.
You might want to download XMP approval metadata and import the data to an MIS system. You can then create reports and invoices or determine where next to direct an element in your workflow.
The element keeps its original file name and extension—for example, image.pdf.
This is called an XMP sidecar file. The XMP sidecar file has the same file name as its associated element, with an .xmp extension appended to the end of the name—for example, image.pdf.xmp.
You can download XMP approval metadata for multiple elements at the same time, but all the elements must be associated with the same task.
You can automate the downloading of XMP metadata by associating a download hot folder with a project. The download hot folder automatically downloads the XMP metadata for any element in the project whenever a task with which the element is associated is completed. You can configure the hot folder to download either the element with its XMP information embedded or the XMP sidecar file only.
